End of week 2

A lot of sorting out but this pile is now gone.

We poured our foundation strips. "We" not being me (Sarah) at all! Thanks lads for all the work.

Some gravel in around the front so we don't muck up the lane too much.

 First load of concrete in.

Second load arrived.

The youngest helper of the day.

It was such a wet day.
 We have steel in there.

This view is as you drive up to the site.

The foundations are solid and the ICF has arrived to make the upstands.

This was yesterday (Sunday 24th)

Mark is standing in the downstairs loo, Anna is outside its door.

The first week on site

Last Thursday was the start of work on site. Some trees were knocked down.

Friday night saw us making sure no bats were in residence and our very own batman was on the lookout and we were allowed knock some of the cottage.

The tree guy took down the other 3 trees. The next day (Saturday) with the help of Mark's brother and 3 of our good friends we got all the wood sorted and the smaller stuff shredded.  And the climax of the day was knocking the rest of the cottage.

During the rest of the week Dad worked away on the digger removing top soil and clearing.

Mark marked out the foundations and they got them level.

Today we got the rest of the foundations dug

And Dad got the site tidied up.

What a week.
